The backing is a solid disc of black agate, glossy and unmarked, and the silver work sits right on top of it. Four spokes cross the face, each quarter filled with a small triquetra, and a wide witch knot loops over the whole circle with its four points reaching past the rim. Each of those points carries another triquetra. The contrast is the whole idea here: bright polished silver against flat black, no stones, no colour, nothing to date it. The pendant runs about 1.49 by 1.14 inches and hangs from a stainless steel box chain.
