A gold pentagram holds the middle of the disc, each of its five triangles filled with warm amber and a small violet stone burning where the arms cross. Ivy runs behind it, green leaves and thin tendrils spread over a near-black ground. Look into the corners and you find animals worked in pale gold: two horned beasts stepping in at the top, two hares crouched at the bottom.

The rim is a wide band of Celtic knotwork with purple gems at the quarter points. The shading is deep enough that the frame reads as cast bronze from a few steps back. Colour is held to three notes throughout: old gold, ivy green and amethyst.

Hang it in a window above an altar, or on a front door where people arrive. Both the pentacle and the ivy belong to earth rather than to any one season, so it stays up through Beltane and Mabon alike. A steady gift for someone new to the craft.
