A raven fills the disc in three-quarter profile, one amber eye turned on you, a heavy gold crown set with pearls and green stones tipped forward over his head. From the tip of his beak swings a brass pocket watch with a green enamel case, the chain looped over the lower mandible. Cream-white feathers break up the black at his shoulder, and under them sit a strand of pearls, a gilded bow brooch and a scatter of small clockwork parts.
The ground behind him is deep green damask, all leaves and curling stems, and a bronze rim ringed with white pearls closes the whole thing off. The shading is deep enough that the crown and the watch case look like they stand off the surface.
Hang it where a lamp or the low afternoon sun can reach the gold, in a hallway window, a dark stairwell or above a writing desk. The palette is green and brass rather than orange, so it stays up long after Samhain. Good for the friend who collects corvids and pocket watches.
