A red-haired witch takes up the middle, her hair falling in long copper waves to the bottom edge. The wide black hat above her is loaded with purple roses and dark berries, a stitched line is painted across one cheek, and a lace choker sits at her throat over a violet ruffled dress.

Behind her the sky goes green to violet, with bats crossing it, a dark castle on the right, lit candles on both sides and two carved pumpkins glowing at the lower left. The numbers one to twelve are white with tick marks between them, and the whole scene is printed flat onto the panel.

This is the one to bring out for the Halloween mantel, though the palette holds up in a craft room year round. A safe gift for someone whose whole October is a project.
