A single figure crosses the disc on a broom, caught in profile with her back arched and her skirts pulled out behind her by the speed. The pointed hat holds its shape against the wind. She is rendered in gunmetal and copper, more sculpture than portrait, with no face detail beyond the line of the nose and chin. Behind her a burnt orange glow spreads across a scorched ground, two bats crossing it, and the edge of the circle is pitted and broken like old salvaged plate.
The whole sculpted effect is printed to look like carved relief. The panel is flat, light and drilled for a hook at the top.
