A dragonfly is laid out flat with its wings spread wide, drawn in the manner of a stained-glass window: every wing panel and body segment separated by a dark outline. The wings shade from cream and butter yellow at the top through lilac and mint to a cold blue at the tips, all of it finely veined.

Behind sit deep teal and near-black panes with long leaves crossing them, and two pink cosmos flowers open at the lower corners. A ring of small pearly tiles runs around the rim, catching a little light the way real glass would. Wing veining and the tile joints both show far better at the larger of the two sizes.

Hang it in a window frame, on a porch wall, or anywhere it catches the afternoon: it is bright enough to hold a pale room on its own. The pinks and mint push it toward spring and summer rather than the dark half of the year. Good for a gardener, or anyone who counts the dragonfly as theirs.
