All pewter but the trees.

A witch sits with her back to us, knees folded, the whole figure rendered in dark pewter grey. Her hair falls in tight ringlets to the small of her back. The hat is wide and softly bent, and her gown ends in a deep ruffled hem that spreads across the ground. One pale grey highlight catches the edge of the ruffle.

Behind her the only warmth in the piece: a stand of misty trees with thin gold leaves scattered on the branches and dry gold grasses at her feet. The border is a raised ring set with rows of small round bosses, like studs hammered into a shield, with a mounting hole punched at the top and another at the bottom. Two mounting holes are punched through, top and bottom.

Almost colourless, so it works where a bright Halloween sign would not, such as a bedroom, a study or a landing. Suits someone whose whole wardrobe is black and who would rather have the quiet version of witchy wall art.
