A black crow stands on a curl of ivory stone, tail hanging past the frame, the only dark shape in a panel that is otherwise all cream. Behind him rises a city of pale towers and cathedral spires, layered one behind the other, with a small white sun over the water and more towers on the far shore. Curling ivory foliage and small pale birds wrap the outer edge, heavier at the top and bottom.
The effect is paper cut into many layers and lit from one side, worked entirely in bone, sand and warm amber. It is the quietest design here, with color kept to the glow of the sky.
