An oak in full autumn stands at the centre, its canopy heavy with gold and copper leaves, its roots braiding down into the ground. Light comes from behind the trunk, so the wood is dark against a warm amber glow and long shadows fall through the trees behind. A Celtic knotwork ring circles the whole scene, broken at the top by a triquetra, and the mossy green stone of the outer border reads like weathered rock. The knot itself is unbroken from end to end, and small triquetras repeat at the four quarter points of the ring.

The warm palette suits Mabon and Samhain, harvest offerings, apple and acorn work, or ancestor work where you want something quieter than black. It is also a soft option for a bedside altar, or for a shelf you would rather keep low key. Keep candles in a holder or on a heat-proof dish rather than straight on the fabric.
