One purple stone, four loops.

The same four-point knot, but built for a stone. Each arm is a pointed oval drawn in double outline, the lines crossing over and under their neighbours in turn, and where all four meet a single round purple stone is held up in four claws, well above the metal.

The maker's drawing puts the whole knot at 15 by 14.6 millimetres and the ring at 2.64 grams, so it covers a good part of the finger without being heavy. The shank splits into two thin rails at the shoulders and is open at the back, with S925 stamped inside. The finish is bright and even, with no darkened recesses, so it reads lighter than the oxidised versions.

Wear it alone on a bare hand, or as the top ring above two plain bands. A good pick for someone whose colour is purple rather than black.
