A full moon fills the panel behind it, and six gold-framed cards float in an arc around the cat: a sun with rays, a crescent moon, an upright sword, an eight-pointed star, a chalice and a pentacle. Two large black birds perch either side of the cat, with two smaller ones higher up.

The ground stays close to black, so the gold reads from the far side of the room. An ornate gold filigree border runs round the edge with scrollwork corners, scattered stars and small crescent medallions, and chain-and-gem dangles hang from the top frame. A moon phase arc crosses the top, waxing through full to waning. The bottom band holds a triple moon, four lit pillar candles in brass candlesticks, crystal points, and plum to near-black roses on dark green stems.
