Amethyst drops, gilded ring.

A witch looks straight out from inside a ring of gold art nouveau scrollwork. Her hat is deep violet, slouched at the point, with a gold cabochon on the band; her gown is the same violet with mauve knit cuffs. Purple teardrop jewels swing from the hat on either side, matching the ones at her ears.

She holds a slim staff upright, capped with a red stone. The frame is a slate disc studded with small gold and garnet beads, and a raven wing is just visible past her shoulder. Against the dark gothic window behind her the gold reads almost warm. The relief look, from the curl of the scrollwork to the sheen on the fabric, is printed onto a flat panel.

It hangs well in a bedroom or above a dressing table, where the violet and gold have something to talk to. Pair it with amethyst clusters and a purple candle. Good as a birthday present for someone in the February crowd.
