Four hooded figures walk away from you into a pale wood, seen from behind and never showing a face. Their cloaks run grey, sage green, hard magenta and dusty blue, each with a tall pointed hat to match and long hair spilling down the two on the right. Autumn leaves cover the ground and hang in from the top of the frame in copper and gold. A fork of white lightning splits the misty sky between the trunks. A twisted branch runs right around the edge as a frame, printed to look carved.
The maker labels this artwork flat printed, and it is: leaves, cloak folds and the branch frame all lie level with the surface. Pre-drilled holes at the top take a hook or a length of ribbon.
It reads as Samhain without a single pumpkin, so it can stay up from Mabon into November. Suits a hallway, a stairwell, or a shared coven space. A fitting gift for sisters, or for the three friends who always arrive together.
