Cathedral windows around one tree.

The tree here is white and gold, blossom breaking like foam across the top third, roots running down into a pale drift at the base. Behind it the sky is dark teal and navy, scattered with small stars and streaked with turquoise light. What sets it apart is the frame: a ring of pointed gothic arches in gold, each one filled with dark glass, so the tree appears to stand at the center of a chapel window looking out.

The tracery, the gilding and the depth in the arches are printed onto a flat panel - the effect is in the painting, not in the metal.

Handsome over a fireplace or at the top of the stairs, where the height of the arches gets read properly. It carries through Yule without being a Christmas piece. Suits anyone drawn to old church windows who still wants a tree at the middle of them instead of a saint. Gold and teal settles better against dark paint than against white.

Returns & guarantee

If it is not what we showed you. Damaged, the wrong item, or materially different from the photographs — tell us within 30 days of delivery. One email and one clear photo is enough to start. You choose a refund or a replacement, and in many cases we settle it from the photo and you keep the item.

If it never arrives. If your parcel has not reached you 60 days after it shipped, we refund your order in full.
